Disney Haul No.8

Disney Haul No.8

Hello, and welcome back to my blog, I am doing yet another Disney haul because I have just had a birthday and was gifted some Disney merchandise and because I couldn’t say no to a couple of items.

For my birthday I was in Dublin and it was such a lovely holiday and one of the things that I did while I was there was go to the Disney store on Grafton Street. Before I talk about the item that I got there I just want to mention that this Disney store is amazing because on the lower floor this level is filled with old Disney discounted merchandise that they don’t sell anywhere else anymore. There was Cakeworthy tops for over 50% off, there were Daniel Nicole bags with a considerable discount and so much more. I spent over half an hour looking at all of these items and I was so tempted by a lot but I resisted and spent my money instead on something you can only get in the Dublin Disney store which is this Dublin Mickey top. I was nervous to buy this item because I was convinced that it wouldn’t fit nicely and that I would have to slim down to fit in, Disney really doesn’t cater for plus sized people but this top fits a dream, it is slightly baggy, doesn’t cling anywhere and is a really lovely top to wear. I wore it around Dublin and I got two really lovely comments while wearing it which just shows how Disney brings people together.

If you’ve been my Disney desk tour then you would know that I have Disney mugs on my desk to hold my pens and pencils but for some time now I have needed another one because I have so many pens. After a long time looking I decided to purchase this mug.

For my birthday I was gifted this Disney bag, I have no idea where it’s from or how much it costs and I’ve never seen it before but I really like it. It’s a good quality, there’s loads of space in the main pocket, the front two pockets are opened with a magnetic button and it’s really comfy to wear. The only thing I would say is that the strap is a little shorter than I would like but I still really like this bag.

I was also gifted these two Jim Shore figurines, one being Mickey Mouse and the other being Minnie Mouse. Jim Shore is my favourite sculptor of Disney characters and I own several Christmas Jim Shore decorations.

These two figurines can hang on a tree, they came with a tie but it attached around the neck and it looked a little sinister, but the option is there.

As these items were gifted I don’t know the price or where they got them from but I do know you can get them from several jewellers and from Clintons the card company in the UK.

The final item I was gifted was a £10 voucher for Primark and so I choose to purchase this Toy Story bag for £2.50 and this Winnie the Pooh jumper for £8.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what all my Disney things! Comment bellow if you’ve bought something Disney related that you’re loving at the moment!

Toy Story 4: Everything You Need to Know

Toy Story 4: Everything You Need to Know

Trailers and sneak peeks have been released for Toy Story 4, and unlike most other film trailers, Toy Story 4 has been quite revealing, gone are the moments where you have to analyse every scene in slow motion a hundred times over to find every hidden secret, like you had to with the End Game trailer.

From the trailer, we know this:

The majority of the gang will be returning, including Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Bullseye, Rex, Ham, Slinky Dog, the 3 aliens and Mr and Mrs Potato Head. I was most concerned about Mr. Potato Head possibly not returning because his voice actor, the amazing Don Rickles passed away in 2017 and he hadn’t recorded any dialogue for the character. Within the opening scene of the trailer we can quite clearly see him, it just might be the case that he is going to be voiced by someone new. Due to his passing, I would be disappointed if the film wasn’t dedicated to him or if he didn’t at least get a mention during the credits.

Also returning from Bonnie’s original toys are Mr. Pricklepants, Trixie, Dolly and Buttercup.

The first new character we’re going to meet is called Forky, who has already sparked controversy because he is actually a spork (a spoon and a fork). Mr. Pricklepants even makes this exact point. Forky is create by Bonnie at school as a way to fill the void because she hasn’t yet made any friends. Woody explains to the gang how important Forky is to Bonnie and that would be the end of the film if it wasn’t for the fact that Forky doesn’t want to be a toy!

Forky, because he was made mostly out of a spork feels that he should be used for the consumption of soup and salad and then thrown away. Is this Pixar’s nod toward our unhealthy consumption of plastic? They are the film company who produced Wall-E, a film all about the destruction of Earth because of humans wasteful choices.

What does Forky do? He runs away, and what does Woody do? He runs after him. It’s pretty much the same storyline as Toy Story 1 and 2, but I’m not mad because those films were what made me fall in love with the franchise.

Forky and Woody find themselves in historic downtown of Grand Basin where Woody seems to recognise an old friend in an antique shop’s window, Bo Peep. While looking for Bo Peep, Woody meets some new toys, the first is Gabby Gabby, who looks like an old fashioned hard plastic doll, and some ventriloquist man dolls. They are all quite sinister looking and seem to want to make trouble for Woody and Forky, but they are rescued by Bo Peep! This is just another example of how film companies are finally giving female characters the chance to show what they’re made of.

Bo Peep introduces Forky and Woody to the fair, which is where Bonnie and her family end up being as well as Buzz and the rest of the toys who are worried about Woody and Forky. Buzz does the only thing a best friend should do and goes after Woody and Forky, but ends up becoming taken by one of the game stall owners and tied up to become a prize for a fair game. This is where Buzz meets Ducky and Bunny, two teddies full of attitude as seen from one of the teaser trailers.

We also see a clip of another new character, Duke Caboom, who is going to be voiced by Keanu Reeves. His character is a motorcyclist daredevil. Keanu has said that his character is going to have to face his fear of failure in order to help Woody and Bo Peep.

The last new character is seen in the trailer but don’t be surprised if you didn’t spot her because she is the smallest toy in the franchise, she is the ally of Bo Peep and her name is Giggle McDimples. You can see her on the shoulder of Woody when he’s at the top of a building with Bo Peep.

Overall this film looks amazing, it seems like there are going to be lots of adventures, new characters to meet and I’m sure this film is going to be packed full of nostalgia. I’m going to be sure to take tissues.

Easter Eggs

There are several possible Easter Eggs to expect from this film. The first being Totoro. Totoro was seen in Bonnie’s bedroom in Toy Story 3, he was one of Bonnies toys. Totoro is one of the more well known characters from Studio Ghibli, an anime company.

Almost every Pixar film has a Pizza Planet truck and a Luxo ball so keep your eyes peeled.

From the trailer I believe you can see Rubble from Paw Patrol in the right hand corner of the screen when Bo Peep is showing Woody what looks like an underground toy party.

All Pixar films have a character voiced by John Ratzenberger, who in Toy Story 4, like all the other Toy Story films is Hamm.

That is everything to expect from Toy Story 4, let me know in the comments below if I’ve missed anything out and if you’re excited to see the film.

What Disney films to Watch in 2019

What Disney films to Watch in 2019

In 2019 there is a crazy amount of Disney and Pixar films coming out that you may not be aware of and there is definitely some stuff to get excited about. So in this blog I am going to be showing you the Disney and Pixar releases coming out in 2019.

This blog will not include any marvel or Star Wars movies.

Dumbo

Dumbo is a live action retelling of the original film and will be released in the UK on the 29th March. It is being directed by Tim Burton who in the past has worked on Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, the live action Alice in Wonderland and many more. Personally I always think that his work is memorable and individualistic, but he’s not my favourite director and I am surprised that he has taken on Dumbo.

This film is not going to be a talking animal film, although it will still centre around Dumbo, they seem to be going in a different direction with this film. For example the film will focus on a new character Holt Farrier, who will be played by Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) he returns from war a changed man, no longer able to be a circus star he is instructed by the circus owner Max Medici, played by Danny Devito (Matilda), to look after Dumbo, a baby elephant with gigantic ears. It his children who discover that Dumbo can fly. It’s now time for Dumbo to be made a star with the help of Collette Marchant, played by Eva Green (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children) who is an aerial artist and entrepreneur V.A Vandemere, played by Michael Keaton (Birdman).

A full trailer is available to watch on You Tube.

Aladdin

The live action Aladdin film is due to be released on 24th May in the UK.

The cast has been confirmed, with the most notable name being Will Smith being the Genie. This is a decision that I am very excited about, Will Smith always takes on very emotive and powerful roles and I think the Genie would really suit him well as a character.

Jasmine is going to be played by Naomi Scott, who most recently was the pink power ranger in the power ranger movie, Mena Massoud will play Aladdin, Marwan Kenzari (Ben-Hur and What Happened to Monday) will play Jafar and Navid Negahban will play the Sultan.

A teaser trailer is available to watch on You Tube, I’m sure it won’t be long until a full length trailer will be released.

Toy Story 4

Toy Story 4, the first animated film of the year and the only fouthquel in the Pixar universe is coming to cinemas in 2019 on 21st June to UK and USA.

The teaser trailer is available to watch which introduces the a new character called Forky. The only possible plot line that has been rumoured is focusing on Woody and Buzz searching for Little Bo Peep.

It looks like a lot of the original cast have signed up for the film including Tom Hanks who voices Woody, Tim Allen who voices Buzz Lightyear and Joan Cusack who voices Jessie and many others.

The Lion King

The Lion King is going to be a CG-animated version which based of the trailer that has been released will follow the exact same story line as the original film, although I have heard that the story will focus more of giving Scar a back-story.

The film will be released 19th July in the UK.

The most recognisable people who have joined the cast are Beyonce (the singer) who will voice Nala, Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express) who will voice Pumbaa, James Earl Jones (Darth Vader) who is revising his role as Mufasa, Donald Glover (The Martian) as Simba and Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) as Scar.

Frozen 2

On 22nd November Frozen 2 is coming. Not much is known about this film accept the fact that Kristen Bell who voices Anna, Idina Menzel who voices Elsa and Josh Gad who voices Olaf have signed onto the film, along with Sterling K. Brown (This is Us) and Evan Rachel Wood to voice new roles.

Artemis Fowl

On August 9th Artemis Fowl will be coming to the cinema, one of the only live action film that I know will be coming out from Disney.

It is going to be directed by Kenneth Branagh, the same person who directed Cinderella.

Artemis Fowl is a series of books that came out many years ago and were very popular, but I’ve not heard much about them until now so I am a little surprised that Disney have chosen to resurface these books.

A short trailer is available to watch on You Tube and it looks intriguing but at the same time like every other fantasy, adventure, technology film.

Noelle

Noelle is another live action film that’s coming out sometime in November. It will be a festive film featuring Anna Kendrick as Nicole Claus, Santa’s daughter. No plot or information about the film has been released other than visuals of Anna in an elf outfit.
